The Prince’s Teaching Institute Award!

The Prince’s Teaching Institute Award!

We are delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded The PTI Mark 2019 for teaching and learning by the Prince’s Teaching Institute.

This programme is a peer network for school leaders to share experiences and embark on research projects. Schools are encouraged to explore possibilities, refresh their thinking and focus the whole-school leadership strategy around what really matters: Teaching and Learning.

Our own leadership project started in 2015/16 with a goal to improve the quality of teaching and learning. By putting teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do at the Academy, we are aiming for the best possible outcomes for all children.

In order to be awarded the PTI Mark 2019 the Academy demonstrated consistency over the following years in implementing and maintaining this approach to teaching. The Academy explored best practice in coaching, lesson study and the use of IRIS to enhance teachers’ subject knowledge and classroom practice.

A culture and vision for excellence in Teaching and Learning is now embedded within the Academy. The Academy is committed to continuously improving all aspects of Teaching and Learning and we are developing objectives and milestones for the upcoming academic year and look forward to working closely with the PTI in the future.

Principal, Mrs Smith said: “I am delighted that the Academy has been awarded this Mark in recognition of the dedicated leadership of teaching and learning across the school.”
