Principal’s Welcome

Welcome from our Principal

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I do hope that it gives you an insight into our Academy and what makes it such a special place to learn in and be a part of.

I am extremely proud to be the Head of School at this Academy. Each day I see our pupils being offered a range of experiences both inside and outside of the classroom that are equipping them with the skills to go on to lead happy and successful lives. Our pupils have experienced success across many different areas and gained from this both local and national recognition. You can read more about the vibrancy of our Academy in the Stories section.

Here, we ensure that our values and those of our sponsor are at the heart of all we seek to achieve and we put these at the centre of all we do. We are proud to be a part of the Co-op Academies Trust. Being part of the Trust brings many additional opportunities for our pupils, including links to the Co-op Group. You can read more about our Co-op Commitment here.

In February 2019, the Academy was awarded a GOOD in its first Ofsted Inspection. The report highlighted the uniqueness of our Academy and managed to capture what it is that makes us a great place to learn in.

The visiting inspectors said:

“Leaders promote positive values clearly and consistently. They support a culture where pupils are confident, considerate of others and hard-working. As a result, pupils enjoy school, attend regularly and learn well.”

“Pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development is a strength of the school. Pupils develop a strong sense of the world in which they live. They understand and value differences, and say that they feel confident to be who they want to be.”

“Teachers provide pupils with opportunities to think about, deepen and extend what they know and understand. Pupils are provided with regular opportunities to develop their literacy. As a result, they read, speak and write with impressive confidence.”

The Academy boasts impressive facilities which include a performance space, extensive sport facilities, cinema, dance theatre, recording studio and many other specialist facilities which support the delivery of our curriculum. We also have a range of successful partnerships with different organisations which bring a unique dimension to our educational offer.

The best way to learn more about our Academy is to visit us. Please do get in touch if you wish to look around. I look forward to welcoming you so that you too can experience what makes Co-op Academy North Manchester such a great place to be part of.
