World Book Day is always a special time at Co-op Academy North Manchester, and this year was no exception! The academy was buzzing with excitement as pupils and staff took part in a range of fantastic literary activities throughout the week.
Where's Wally?
The fun kicked off with a daily ‘Where’s Wally?’ hunt, where pupils searched for the beloved striped character hidden around the school. Every successful finder earned an entry into a prize draw, adding an extra layer of excitement to the challenge!
On Tuesday, the Library welcomed both past and present Library Leaders for a Carnegie Shadowers virtual event, bringing book lovers together to discuss their shared passion for reading.

First Story Writing Workshop
Midweek brought a creative twist as spoken word artist Reece Williams from First Story led an inspiring writing workshop for selected Year 7 pupils in the Library. The young writers explored their creativity, crafted powerful poetry pieces, and gained valuable insights into the art of writing poetry.

Readathon Day
Thursday was a day of pure literary indulgence with ‘Readathon Day’! Staff and pupils were invited to enjoy some quiet reading time in the Library, accompanied by a warm brew and a biscuit, the perfect way to unwind and celebrate the joy of books. World Book Day tokens were also distributed, ensuring every pupil had the chance to get their hands on a fantastic new read.

World Book Day Quiz
To round off the celebrations, English lessons throughout the week featured an exciting World Book Day quiz, testing pupils’ knowledge of literature and challenging them to think about the stories that inspire them.
From hunts and workshops to quizzes and quiet reading, World Book Day at Co-op Academy North Manchester was a true celebration of the magic of books!
