Young Leaders Programme with Manchester Active
Our pupils have been provided another fantastic opportunity to complete a level 1 leadership qualification, due to our partnership with Manchester Active. 12 pupils completed a 3 day course covering theoretical and practical tasks to help them become successful leaders in the making.
It was fantastic to receive such positive feedback from the Active Communities Network stating, “Your students were polite, respectful and helpful throughout the course and represented themselves very well. The tutor who assessed them on the final day actually said this was one of the best and most able cohorts he had assessed in the past 2 years and they all very much supported each other during their individual final assessments, which was great to see and hear!”
It’s wonderful to see our pupils keen to get qualified so that they’re able to give back to the community. In February half term they’ll be working with Manchester Active offering a coaching camp at Sports City as well as delivering other primary events and competitions.
Kaynat Asghar found the opportunity very rewarding saying, “This was a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my confidence in leading, providing me with the necessary skills to lead small groups. I have learnt lots of drills and practices that I am keen to use with my peers and primary pupils. I am grateful to have been selected to take part in this level 1 sports leadership award and hope to develop it further.”
Congratulations to our pupils for their success!
