We kicked off Fairtrade Fortnight

We kicked off Fairtrade Fortnight

It’s #FairtradeFortnight and last week kicked off with a range of activities, from a bake sale to a Year 7 inter-form football tournament.

We heard from Year 7’s student council, who shared the importance of fair farming and why supporting Fairtrade can make such a big difference to farmers around the world! We were also lucky enough to receive some Fairtrade chocolate goodies thanks to the Co-op and their links with the foundation. Fairtrade has been an important part of the school for many years. In fact, did you know that the Academy only serve Fairtrade Tea and Coffee?

Year 8 were busy bakers getting ready for Friday’s bake sale and we were very pleased with the end result!

Year 7’s inter-form football competition was a blast. We played even played with Fairtrade footballs.

A big congratulations to 7/1 and 7/8 who were our champions on the day!
