Pupils race to the finish line at Manchester’s Velodrome

Our team of 12 Year 8 pupils have been taking part in the Manchester Schools Track Championship at the National Cycling Centre.

Pupils started with practice sessions on the Velodrome to build up their confidence and improve their technique. And now they are competing in races against other schools in Manchester.

Mr Webb, Head of Year 8 said: “There have been some spills and falls on the track but each time the pupils have shown huge resilience and courage to get back on and go again.

“If you worried about falling off the bike, you would never get on.”

Our team have put on impressive performances and have shown great improvement. This has resulted in them being victorious against Manchester Communication Academy.

Pupils have now made it through to the next round which will take place in June.
