Made in Manchester
On Monday our pupils attended the launch of Made in Manchester at Manchester Central.
Made in Manchester is a multilingual collaborative poem that is written in 64 languages by local people ranging from students to poets!
Omotolani in Year 10 and Diva in Year 9 have even had their lines incorporated into the poem and have starring roles in the YouTube video. Other students created artwork for sculptures that are displayed in the children’s section of the Central Library.
We’re so proud of our pupils for being fantastic ambassadors for our Academy, community and languages as a whole. The poem is going to be worked on further before being displayed in a new poetry space launching in Manchester next year!
It’s been a fantastic experience for out students to celebrate our city’s incredible cultural diversity.
