We're closed to most students
The Government is asking parents to keep children at home whenever possible – schools remain open only for children who need to attend.

Physical Education

The department boasts enviable facilities. A 3G pitch, sports hall, sports fields, trim trail, tennis courts and a gymnasium are all on site and used for PE lessons for each year group. The department offers a range of sports and pupils also benefit from working with outside coaches, and through our partnership with The Manchester United Foundation.

What does our curriculum include?

The department offers a range of sports including: football, netball, cross country, basketball, rounders, tennis, athletics, trampolining and cycling to name a few. There is a full extra-curricular activities which run both before school, after school and at lunchtime. Our pupils excel in a variety of sports having made it through to both national and regional finals and winning at a regional level across a number of sports.

The department engages in trips and visits to see sports in action, and to enable pupils to engage in other sports such as cycling at the velodrome and rock climbing. Pupils are also supported to represent the school in competitions such as the English Schools Athletics. Pupils’ achievements in sport are celebrated in the annual sports awards. Pupils practise their leadership skills in sport by volunteering to be sports leaders and by supporting primary competitions that the academy hosts.
