We're closed to most students
The Government is asking parents to keep children at home whenever possible – schools remain open only for children who need to attend.

The department has three dedicated teaching rooms with History being delivered by subject specialists as a separate subject from the start of Key Stage 3. This enables the skills of the subject, as well as the knowledge base, to be embedded from the start of the course. Pupils have achieved highly in the new GCSEs including a number of pupils achieving the coveted Grade 9s in the subject, demonstrating the excellent teaching that they have received.

What does our curriculum include?

The curriculum is broken down into key topic areas with key skills posed around each one. Pupils have the opportunity to carry out independent research projects during extra-curricular clubs and to develop knowledge of local as well as national history. Challenge days are used to enhance pupils’ interest within the subject.

Pupils have had their research published as part of The Somme 100 anniversary and two Year 11 pupils recently won a competition to visit the WW1 Battlefields sites.
