Health and Social Care

The subject is delivered from Key Stage 4 onwards, with pupils experiencing taster sessions at Key Stage 3 so that they can make an informed choice. Many pupils go on to study this subject further at College and the outcomes are consistently high.

What does our curriculum include?

Pupils study a range of concepts which are all linked to the growth and development of themselves and those around them. They have the opportunity to investigate how health and services meet the needs of individuals and carry out a range of primary research. Pupils learn about how aspects affect the development of individuals physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially. They have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills through the running of a range of events and to take part in work experience related to this field. There is also a range of guest speakers invited into the department to speak to our pupils about their areas of work.
