Business & Computing
'Computers themselves, and software yet to be developed, will revolutionise the way we learn.'
Business and Computing at Co-op Academy North Manchester are subjects that aim to give each pupil the opportunity to apply and develop their technical and theoretical skills and understanding across a wide range of areas. Pupils are encouraged to gather, store, process and present information through activities in a variety of contexts. As a department, our belief is that through quality first teaching of Business, Computer Science, Digital Information Technology and Enterprise we can create an ethos in which our pupils can excel. Links to careers pathways throughout the curriculum
Throughout our Business and Computing offer, pupils will have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths through case study work as theory is regularly linked to real-life examples. We seek opportunities for our pupils to engage with local businesses and organisations to broaden their knowledge of both the curriculum and the world of work. This includes question and answer sessions with industry professionals and visits to organisations. Pupils also have the opportunity to participate in national competitions and past examples have included robotics, app design, and enterprise competitions.
