On the 17th -21st June 2024 , pupils enthusiastically participated in National School Sports Week, engaging in a wide array of sports and activities designed to promote physical fitness and fun. The event featured classic sports such as tennis, boccia, netball and football, providing pupils with ample opportunities to showcase their skills and enjoy friendly competition.

Co-op Academy North Manchester, received a ‘continues to be Good’ judgement in its April Ofsted inspection.
The report commends the school for its ‘broad and balanced curriculum’ which means ‘pupils are rising to the school’s high expectations of achievement.’

It is with great pride that I am able to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection. It has just been published and is the loveliest of ways with which to end this half-term. It is linked here and really is worth reading. It highlights so many aspects of our school, such as how good our curriculum, wider development and culture are. I hope you feel the same sense of pride I did when I read it.

As part of our excellent CEIAG offer Year 9 pupils participated in a speed networking event on Thursday 16th May 2024. The event was organised by Ahead Partnership, a social value specialist that connects young people to opportunity by working with employers to help them overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

In March 2024, the shortlist for the Yoto Carnegie Children's Book Award was announced. Our library leaders, along with a group of enthusiastic readers from the academy participated in a shadowing program. This program offers them the chance to read, evaluate, and engage in various activities and challenges leading up to the voting process that takes place in June.

As we move towards the final exams, the next couple of weeks will play a vital part in pupils' preparation for their GCSE Exams. As part of our ongoing commitment to our pupils' success, academy staff have voluntarily scheduled revision sessions over the half-term break.
It is important that pupils attend all revision sessions that are relevant to them. Timetables have been shared with pupils, but a copy of the scheduled sessions can be found below.
Pupils are not required to wear their school uniform. However, they must wear clothes that are appropriate for school. Mobile phones will also not be allowed during the revision sessions. Light refreshments will also be provided for pupils.
Please remind pupils that not all areas of the school are accessible due to scheduled maintenance work.
Frequently asked questions
What time should pupils arrive?
Pupils should arrive 10 minutes before the revision session is due to start, and will need to stay for the full session. Pupils will not be allowed to leave early.
Where should pupils go when they arrive at school?
Pupils must enter the building via the main reception at the front of the academy (Victoria Avenue East). A member of staff will be there to meet pupils. All pupils must sign in when they arrive and wait to be collected by their subject teacher.
What if pupils arrive late?
We strongly advise that pupils arrive on time to avoid missing any of the sessions. However, should pupils arrive late, they will need to wait in reception for a member of staff to escort them to their revision session.

Since 2001, the Mental Health Foundation has been leading Mental Health Awareness Week, bringing together the UK to promote good mental health. Each May, millions of people from every part of society take part. They include people in schools and further education; private, public and charity sectors; families and individuals. This year the theme was ‘moving more for mental health’.

Inspection of Co-op Academy North Manchester by Ofsted
We have just told your child's school that we will inspect it on 16 April 2024. The lead inspector will be Jenny Jones, HMI. We are writing to you because we would like to know what you think about the school. Please take a few minutes to read the leaflet that came with this letter. It explains why we inspect schools and what happens during an inspection.
Your views about the school are important to us
If you are a registered parent or carer of a pupil at the school (including pupils on sick leave or who are temporarily excluded), you can tell us your views about the school by completing Ofsted's online survey, Ofsted Parent View, at: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
Ofsted Parent View asks for your opinion on some aspects of your child's school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of teaching, how the school deals with bullying and poor behaviour. It also provides a free-text box for you to make additional comments, if you wish. The inspectors will use the online survey responses when inspecting your child's school. Written comments can also be sent to the school in a sealed envelope, marked confidential and addressed to the inspection team.
To register your views, you will need to provide your email address, which will be held securely. It will not be used for any purpose other than providing access to the online survey. Neither schools nor Ofsted will have access to any email addresses.
Please complete the online survey by 11am on 16 April 2024 as this will give the inspection team more time to consider your views. However, we will consider all online responses that are completed during the inspection, although the free-text box facility will not be available after noon on 17 April 2024.
Speaking to an inspector
If you are unable to complete the online survey, it may be possible to speak to an inspector during the inspection, for instance at the start of the school day, or to pass on messages to the inspectors if you are unable to speak to them in person. Inspection administrators will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. If concerns are raised about child protection, we may have to pass the information we receive to social services or the police. You can contact the administrators on 03000131833. Inspectors will be pleased to receive your comments, but cannot deal with complaints about individual pupils or settle disputes between you and the school.

Inspectors will gather any personal information necessary to assist them in inspecting a school.
