Robotics Teams Shine at Regional Competition & Secure Three Prestigious Awards

In an outstanding display of innovation, teamwork, and sportsmanship, the InCTRL and Mecha Minds Robotics Teams achieved remarkable success at the recent FIRST Tech Challenge regional competition. The teams proudly brought home three prestigious awards, underscoring their dedication to excellence in robotics and community support.
InCTRL were honoured with the Think Award again, in recognition of their exceptional engineering design process and meticulous documentation in their engineering notebook. This award celebrates their ability to effectively plan, iterate, and innovate throughout the competition.
Mecha Minds - a new team for Co-op North Manchester, also received the highly regarded Judges' Award, which is given to a team that the judges feel embodies the spirit of FIRST Tech Challenge in a unique way. This award recognises the team's overall performance, creativity, and commitment to advancing STEM learning.

Adding to the excitement, team member Michalina was awarded the Gracious Professionalism Award, a testament to her outstanding support to the other teams in the competition. Her willingness to assist, collaborate, and inspire her fellow competitors exemplified the core values of FIRST, demonstrating that success is not just about winning but also about uplifting others along the way.
“We are incredibly proud of our team's performance and the recognition we received,” said Mr Slattery, Teacher of ICT. “Winning these awards reflects our hard work, dedication, and the supportive spirit that defines our team. We are excited to continue growing, learning, and competing in future events.”
