We're closed to most students
The Government is asking parents to keep children at home whenever possible – schools remain open only for children who need to attend.

Pastoral Care – Year Teams

How is our pastoral team organised?

Your child is placed in a form on entry to the academy. They have a dedicated form tutor who oversees their pastoral care each day, meets their form every morning and supports each member of the form. Each year group has:

  • an attendance officer
  • a head of year
  • an associate head of year
  • a senior leader attached to their year group
  • access to the safeguarding officer

Who do I speak to if I have query or a problem?

We encourage our pupils to try to speak to their form tutor, associate head of year or head of year first. This is because they will know your child best, however, your child is able to speak to any adult within the building.

Around the academy are posters which show your child who they can speak to should they need to.

Parents/carers should ask to speak to the head of year or associate head of year in the first instance. We encourage our parents/carers to read the communications policy to support them when communicating with the academy.

What do we offer our pupils?

We offer our pupils a range of different opportunities to learn about how to keep themselves safe, as well as opportunities to develop key skills. Pupils may wish to look at the wellbeing page for links to outside agencies which may support them, should this be required.
