Co-op Academy North Manchester Celebrates National School Sports Week
On the 17th -21st June 2024 , pupils enthusiastically participated in National School Sports Week, engaging in a wide array of sports and activities designed to promote physical fitness and fun. The event featured classic sports such as tennis, boccia, netball and football, providing pupils with ample opportunities to showcase their skills and enjoy friendly competition.
One of the highlights of the week was the climbing wall, where many pupils scaled new heights, literally and figuratively, conquering personal challenges and building confidence. Additionally, the event introduced pupils to new experiences with activities like Taekwondo and frisbee, broadening their horizons and fostering a love for diverse physical activities.
National School Sports Week proved to be a successful and enjoyable event, leaving pupils with lasting memories and a reinforced appreciation for staying active and healthy.
The pupils said:
“Taekwondo was my favourite lesson.”
“Frisbee is so cool. Can we do it again?”
“Where can I do rock climbing? I want to start. I have had so much fun.”
“I love the variety of sports we have done this week for Sports Week.”

“I really enjoyed Taekwondo. I am going to join the club with the instructor Josh.”

Mrs. Hurst, Teacher of PE, added, “Sports Week has been very successful and full of fun and love of sport. All pupils have been fully engaged in all the activities they have been involved in. The pupils have been fantastic during the drop-down period 5 when the entire year group came down to PE.”
