Pupils Shine at Jamie's Farm
In October 2023 eleven Year 11 pupils set off for a week-long residential trip to Jamie’s Farm in Monmouthshire.
The pupils thoroughly embraced life on the farm. Daily jobs included feeding rounds with the animals, farm work such as herding sheep and milking cows, horse work, gardening and cooking. Every day the pupils went on an afternoon walk and took time to reflect and celebrate the achievements of others. During the trip pupils took part in a hike up the Skirrid and although some pupils found this daunting, they all got to the top together.
During the week the pupils showed great determination, resilience and team work and returned to school with a real sense of pride in what they had achieved. It was a delight to see them grow as individuals and to forge new friendships within their group. We look forward to seeing them build on these achievements as they proceed on their journey through to their GCSEs in Year 11.
