Nick Lane

Assistant Vice Principal: Achievement

Growing up in Wigan, I made the short move to Manchester at 18, where I spent three years studying Mathematics and Physics at the University of Manchester.  Following the completion of my degree, I studied Mathematics for a further year and earned a Master's Degree. Then, working in East Manchester, I spent 18 months tutoring and, buoyed by the impact that teaching had on students' life choices, I knew that I wanted to teach.  In 2010, I began my teacher training and the following year became a qualified Maths teacher.  I came to Co-op North Manchester in 2015 as Head of Mathematics, which then led me to become part of the Senior Leadership Team. Here, my role leading on achievement, includes leading on assessment and intervention, reporting, curriculum design and timetabling to ensure the very best outcomes for all of our students in their GCSE and BTEC courses.  I have the privilege of working with a diverse and talented range of students daily and with a leadership team of experts.  I work closely with middle leaders who strive daily to ensure our students receive the very best teaching in all lessons, and I am proud to have served the community of North Manchester since 2015, and I will continue to ensure the very best for our students.
