Year 11 Progress Evening

The Year 11 Progress Evening take place on Thursday 29th February. Our Year 11 pupils sat their mocks after Christmas and we were delighted with the engagement and maturity shown by our pupils. We would now welcome the opportunity to discuss their performance and our plans for preparing them for the formal GCSEs, moving forward.

Our pupils have been receiving their mock examination results in lessons and they have also been working through model answers to a number of questions on each paper to assist their understanding of how they can make improvements which they can then implement in the GCSE examinations.

Subject teachers will be available for parents and carers to discuss their progress and  they can make an appointment through SchoolCloud by following these steps (copy and paste the link below which will take you to the direct page for entering your information). Once your appointments are made you will be able to use this as a record of your appointments in school.

The system will only recognise the information we have on record for your child and therefore what you input in terms of your title (Mr / Miss Ms/ Mrs) and the spelling of names must match exactly with the information you submitted on your child’s data collection form. The system will recognise the details for your priority 1 and priority 2 contacts only.

This point in Year 11 is a critical time for our pupils in terms of considering future career plans and College applications. We hope therefore that parents and carers can attend this event in order for them not only to discuss their child’s progress to date but also to speak with college representatives and to find out how to help them further as they work towards their final GCSE examinations this Summer.

Pupil's teachers can inform parents and carers about how they are doing in each of their subjects. On the evening, there will also be an opportunity to speak with the team who provide pastoral care for the year group, their Pastoral Managers Mrs Duffy and Mr Norbury. In addition, we will have our Academic Mentoring team available to offer advise about our after school and lunchtime revision and study support sessions and our SEND and EAL teams will be asking to see some parents on arrival.

Appointment times are 5 minute slots only so please arrive promptly for  appointments.  Without an appointment we can not guarantee that teachers will have time to speak to parents and carers so please do log on and book appointments. Senior staff will also be available to answer any questions.  The booking system will be available to make bookings from 26th February.

We know the lead up to the final examinations can be a stressful time for Year 11 and evenings like this are crucial in helping pupils feel supported. We hope that by working together, pupils' results will be the very best they can be.

Yours faithfully

Mrs F Welsh

Vice Principal
