Roadshow Team Inspires Academy Pupils with Interactive STEM Workshop

The roadshow team brought a wave of excitement to the academy on Thursday, 25th January 2024 as they conducted an engaging STEM workshop, leaving pupils motivated and inspired.

The interactive theatre roadshow, presented  by the roadshow in collaboration with BAE Systems, The Royal Air Force and The Royal Navy aimed to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education amongst our Year 7 & 8 pupils.

The theme of the show was electricity. Pupils had the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities and experiments that explored what electricity is and how it is generated. It provided pupils with a practical understanding of STEM concepts. The roadshow team showcased the real-world applications of STEM in diverse industries, highlighting the importance of these fields in shaping the future.

Miss Parkinson, Vice Principal at Co-op Academy Manchester expressed enthusiasm about the workshop's impact on pupils, stating, "The roadshow team's visit has been a fantastic addition to our academic calendar. The interactive nature of the workshop has ignited a passion for STEM subjects amongst our pupils, opening their eyes to the exciting possibilities these fields offer."

The STEM workshop stands as a testament to the positive impact that collaborative efforts between educational institutions and external organisations can have on shaping the educational journey of pupils.

Pupils took part in the interactive session to determine renewable and non-renewable fuels.
